A Year On: Our Big Move and What It’s Meant for Us
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a little over a year since The Little Yorkshire Wood Company moved into its new home!
For those who don’t know, woodworking isn’t our full-time profession—yet—so having a workshop located some distance away from home was beginning to pose real challenges. The travel, the time, and the cost were starting to take their toll.
The Solution: Home Sweet Workshop
So, we made a decision that in hindsight feels like the obvious choice from the start—we converted our unused garage at home into a dedicated workshop.
And it’s been a game-changer.
Not only is the commute now just a few steps from the back door (perfect for evenings and weekends), but we’ve significantly cut down on rent and travel expenses. That’s allowed us to revisit our pricing and keep things as affordable as possible for our customers.
Another bonus? The garage was filled with all sorts of forgotten bits and bobs, so the move gave us the perfect excuse for a proper clear-out!
We also added a new garden shed to store materials and packaging—something we quickly realised was essential as orders started to increase.
Looking Back – and Looking Ahead
Since setting up shop at home, things have gone from strength to strength. Orders have been fantastic, and we’ve been blown away by the kind reviews and support from our amazing customers. Your feedback keeps us motivated and inspire every single day.
To celebrate how far we’ve come, we thought we’d share some photos from happy customers who’ve received pieces we’re incredibly proud of.
Thanks so much for being part of our journey—and here’s to what comes next!
